A quick hello to all. I am on my first day of holidays so got some minis made including this fireplace. I need opinions on colour. Yes or no? I thought the greyish colour might add a little colour, rather than go black or brown/timber, but not sure. Your thoughts?
I really like this colour, it's nice and soft and it shows of the embellishment.
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon! The color is very nice but it is difficult to give a comprehensive opinion without seeing what the other colors in the room are, but based only on what is visible, I would perhaps also consider picking up the green that is in the floral bouquet wallpaper as a color for the fireplace as the green would tie it in tighter. Again, this is just my opinion, but I know that only you know what mood and what design direction that you are trying to establish. :D
ReplyDeleteHave fun, it looks like it is a very pretty space!

It is lovely just as it is. I would have painted it the same color as the background in the wallpaper.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments guys! Three different opinions! Catherine, I considered painting it the same colour as the background but decided I wanted a little more colour. Norma and Elizabeth, I chose the blue-grey to bring out the blue ribbons in the wallpaper, but green would be nice too. It is probably a colour I would've normally chosen. I haven't picked colours for the rest of the room yet, but the furniture will be mostly timber.
ReplyDeleteThe grey is fine but I would add a bit of white marbling to it. That would be an authentic look. It is not difficult to do, there are lots of tutorials around.
ReplyDeleteI like the color, it works well with the wall paper
