I have since mounted this little cottage onto a base with a turntable, and done a fair bit of landscaping. I love how this has turned out!
I am working on a French sofa/armchair set as well as armchairs for this cottage but they are proving difficult. There are too many curves in too many directions necessary for a good design, not to mention the fact you can't really laser cut too many foams. Anyway, hopefully by July I will have something ready. Take care everyone!
I love how you finished it! Gorgeous green door and trim!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila. Thanks! I love this vintage green too (celadon?). I wasn't sure how it would go with the yellow, but I really wanted the green and yellow. I think it works. I am hoping to get some pink flowers in the garden now, to add a little cottage colour. Have a great day!
DeleteLove Love Love it!!
ReplyDeleteAwwww, thanks Jenn! This is one of those houses where pretty much everything in my mind's eye worked in reality, so I am pretty pleased with it. A few more bits of furniture and it will be pretty much done. Enjoy the rest of the week.
DeleteI love it, Shannon. Especially because you can access the house from different sides.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the armchairs.
Si
Thanks Si. That is one thing I really love in dollhouses - looking from different viewpoints into other rooms, nooks, corners, etc. It adds interest and mystery I think. This one's been in my mind for so many years, it's good to finally have it out! Also, have spent some time working on a sofa - changed the construction pretty significantly and still no breakthrough. Sigh.
DeleteUna casa preciosa, en espera del ver el interior:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Rosa Maria! I will show more of the interior soon. It is looking pretty good, but needs more furniture, some rugs, some pictures, just some cottage accessories. Have a great day!
DeleteHi Shannon, the cottage is just adorable, just perfect!
ReplyDeleteAll the best
Vivian
Not only I love the result, but also the structure is perfect. Really beautiful and inspiring.
ReplyDeleteHugs
Hi Vivian, thanks for compliment! High praise indeed! I have really loved every minute of working on this one. Sometimes they just fall into place don't they?
ReplyDeleteThis is sooo good!! I love it!!! Carriexx
ReplyDeleteThanks Carrie, glad you like! Still got a little landscaping to do, but nearly there! Have a great weekend.
DeleteSweet cottage, I really like the two different perspectives.
ReplyDeleteThanks Norma, I do too. Makes it more real. I like to see things from a different abgle, and it provides little secret glimpses! Enjoy the rest of the weekend - hope you're keeping warm.
Deleteahhhh, I'm in love!!!! How Fab is this!???? You have organized the floor plan beautifully and the details are Amazing, both inside and out! Totally wonderful, Shannon! :D
ReplyDeleteThanks Elizabeth! The floor plan is something I love about this house too, although there were a few compromises along the way! I have a few more bits of furniture to add, and some accessories, and will post more photos of the inside. I wish I could get the photos clearer though - I think I should try posting from the desktop computer rather than the ipad app. Have a great week!
DeleteWhat a lovely little house. I haven't seen one this style before and like Simon, love the fact that it can be viewed from different sides.
ReplyDeleteHi Irene! Glad you like it; I am trying to do some different things with these kits! I love a house with multiple openings and hidden rooms and the such-like. Take care!
Deleteoh this is a delightful little cottage. I visited Carmel many years ago, it is lovely. I love your Mountfield house too, I like the 50's style.
ReplyDeleteHi Polly. Thanks for your lovely comment! Glad you like both of my cottages! The Mountfield is a great little house, and I'd probably do it a little differently now, but overall I like how it's turned out. Maybe it will get a few alterations one day, when the little voices of the things I dislike turn into screams of demand for change. Carmel is a great little town and I can't wait to return. Hope your week is a good one.
DeleteGorgeous!
