Mountfield update

Hi all. Happy Australia Day for those in Oz who celebrate it. I have been trying to get a little work done. The husband is sleeping. I got about as much tiling done as I could. Now I need to wait for some plain white tiles to arrive. I will tile this room much the same as the original bathroom, but I have made the tiles 1 tile shorter. In hindsight, this may not have been a good idea as the plain wallpaper (which I will paint over) may be too short, leaving a gap between it and tiles. We will see how we go. If all else fails, I can rip out the wallpaper and replace with some longer pieces. 

Not sure about my yellow base tile. I would've used dark green but you can't get matching ones. So I thought I'd try yellow.

    El aspecto de los azulejos me gusta como queda,efectivamente el papel de la pared es corto,pero puede quedar muy bien pintado o poniendo más grandes si es que tienes suficiente,cualquiera de las dos opciones quedará bien!!

    I really like the tile work. Especially with that dark border at the bottom. Very retro!

      Thanks Sheila! I think the yellow will look even better once the other border tiles are on as they have yellow in them too!

    Great work Shannon, Your vision for this bathroom was very distinct and you are bringing it to life .... and so quickly! It looks great.

      Thanks Janine! The tiles are on sheets, so they go up pretty quickly, and I am basically just doing the same pattern as the original bathroom. I like it too!

    Happy Australia Day to you too! (I am just celebrating it on the other side of the world.)
    The tiles have really transformed this room into a bathroom. I think it is looking good.

      Is it cold Sam? And yes, the tiles are great, but they look pretty ordinary with the floral wallpaper! Haha!

    Hi Shannon, Janine again. We did celebrate Australia Day.
    We always look forward to receiving emails, pictures and short videos from siblings, cousins and friends showing us how they are celebrating. Of course they know we are suffering here from short dark wet cold days so most photos include outdoor dining and activities.
    They are mostly in Queensland so suffering somewhat from the heat.
    Glad to hear that everyone enjoyed a day off for Australia Day. Heading down for a couple of weeks next week.

      I hope looking at sunny family photos doesn't make you too homesick. Especially when it is cold and dark in Canada. Queensland can be pretty hot and humid, but I'd prefer that to the cold (I don't deal well with anything under 20 deg C). Enjoy your break over here, I am sure it will be a welcome change from the cold! Xx

    I really like the yellow. It makes it much more interesting and the combination of colors reminds me of spring!

    Shannon, I do like that yellow border -- but you might need to put in some more repeats of that colour (the bath mat is a good start).
