Good morning! Or at least it is in Australia! I had the brilliant idea to write this post on our crappy laptop so I didn’t have to wrestle with ipad blogger, but it turns out the space bar doesn’t really work on the laptop. Geez you hit that thing a lot when typing sentences. Moving along, just thought I’d show you a picture of the back of the cushion my friend made. She didn’t like the fabric that came with the kit and after a bit of brain storming, I suggested stitching her initials. Didn’t she make that beautiful too? Sorry for dark photo, it is a very dull rainy morning here.

And also a new project I am working on. This will be a 1:24 kit soon!

  • PS It turns out that blogger is almost as painful on the laptop as on the ipad! Yay!!

  1. Unfortunately the images you attached are not visible. There is some type of a disconnect in the links you used, perhaps public viewing permission from the photo storage site was not enabled?

    1. Hi Sam. Yes very storybook! I can’t wait to landscape this one, but need to sort the wiring first. And yes, the cushion is lovely! I wish I could stitch like that.

    1. Thanks Jodi. I cut and painted the roof so once it is glued on, it will be easier to see the shape properly. Xx

  6. Hi Shannon! Initially I thought the problem of not receiving the photos was from my old laptop!
Glad to see them now and relieved too!
The needlepoint cushion is just as nice on the backside as it is on the front and what a great idea to have her initials embroidered into it! :D
and I think that your new half scale project looks old world french cottage judging from what I can already see :)

    1. Hi Elizabeth, nice to know that your machines are working as they should and that you are not going crazy, isn’t it? Haha! And I hadn’t thought about a location for the cottage really. But it is somewhere where squirrels live - clearly not Australia! Xx

  9. I like the project, it is coming along nicely. I find that I am very used to having a keyboard and they are fast for me to use as I have good speed with them.

My laptop keyboard is faulty, I do have a new keyboard to put into the laptop but have not gotten it done yet so I am using a keyboard that I had lying around from an older PC and I have plugged that into the laptop. It works just fine for the purpose for now. I got my laptop's proper replacement keyboard, new in the box, from Ebay. That is a repairable situation :)

    1. Hello Sigrid. The little painted house is 1:24 but the pillow is 1:12. My friend who made it also bought kits for chair seat embroidery and they are very very tiny so she is having a lot of trouble trying to stitch them! She is using a magnifying lens. Enjoy your week!
