Here is a picture of a stove design that I printed out on paper, stuck onto card and cut out as a prototype.
Seeing as there appears to be discrepancies in sizes of half scale items, I am basing the size of mine on Bespaq pieces. I want these kits to be relatively detailed but easy to put together.
The first things will be some furniture, like a French style bed, some stoves, occasional tables and a country style bedroom suite. I am also working on a house, with tab and slot construction for stability and a shop or two. I will post some more pics as I progress.
Lastly, thanks for your comments on my last post. And no, I didn't realise I'd sprouted horns til I got home from the SF zoo and saw the photos! I wondered why people were staring!
Hope you are all keeping well and enjoy your week.
Sounds good. Good luck and I hope you do well. X
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! Looks like it might be a case of 'great minds think alike', I've been having similar thoughts lately re laser cut kits (but not in half scale). Laser cutting for tab and slot construction should cut out the biggest bug-bear of the conventionally cut plywood tab and slot houses as it seems that more often than not a good bit of sanding is required to get the tabs to fit nicely. Good luck with it all!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon!
ReplyDeleteYour little stove mock up, is going to Fab! Your cuts are really clean and your kits sound like they will be a lot of fun once they are underway. French furniture is always a hit regardless of scale! :D
That is delightful, even in it's unfinished state. I love the possibilities laser cutting has brought to the miniature world! :) Glad to hear you are going to make kits!
