I have also, at long last, finished the other cabinets for the doll shop! I made the front panel of the cabinet so that it pops off for interior access, and the whole inside of the counter pulls out. I meant to photograph this but forgot. Anyways, they need a few more accessories, but otherwise I am quite happy with the way they turned out.
Might need to try making a 1/24 cash register....
Last pic - a sweet little lidded jar by Elizabeth Causeret that I purchased at Kensington a few years ago. Such amazing detail, what a clever lady.
One last thing: I finally got my husband to figure out how to switch on the reply to comments function, so can now reply to individual comments! Have a great week everyone.
Adorable doll shop!
ReplyDeleteThanks Audra! Slowly building up accessories in there!
DeleteThe cabinets look great, Shannon. Well done. I particularly like the paper at the back, it really lifts them and makes the, more interesting. The lidded jar is very pretty.

Hi Si. Thanks for the lovely compliments. I like the papers too; without them, I think a lot of the tiny things would get a bit lost inside. The light blue paper is 1:24 Brodnax paper, and the one in the low counter is something I found on the internet.
ReplyDeleteHi Shannon, the little shop looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteAll the best
Vivian
Thanks Vivian! I am always torn about having something unfinished and leaving spaces for when I find a special tiny something that would look good in that setting! I think I'll leave some spaces for now.
DeleteHi Shannon! I LOVE the chair with the ruffled cushion, because I love ticking stripes. I also LOVE your tiny dolls and although I think I have told you that before, it still bears repeating! :D
ReplyDeleteYour wall of display units filled with such wonderful toys would make any little girl, Hate to leave; but then again, so would her mother! :D
Beautiful Work! :D
elizabeth
Thanks Elizabeth! I put a few of the tiny pieces I had finished in my stash in this shop, and then was inspired at the weekend to put some toys into my 1:12 scale doll shop, and realised that I didn't have as much as I thought as so many things went into the 1:24 shop! Ooops! And then I realised that I don't really like the sum of the parts of the 1:12 shop - nothing is gelling. I need to rethink or redecorate. Or both.
DeleteLa silla está preciosa con el cojín!!! Y tu tienda es adorable, cada vez tiene más encanto!!!
ReplyDeleteBesos.
Thanks Pilar! It's always so gratifying when something is finished and you put it in your scene and it looks good. I had to adjust the size of both the cabinet and the counter though, as they looked a bit small for the space.
DeleteSo cute!!!
ReplyDeleteThe chairs are lovely and I noticed your staircase at the back of the photo - it's very decorative and the shop is displayed beautifully. You have selected some fine pieces.
ReplyDeleteThanks Irene! It is coming together, and I am slowly building up a range of furniture.
