Shoutout to Ipad bloggers

Ok, so I have been trying out a few apps for blogging using the ipad. If you also blog from your ipad, you may know that Blogger is not going to update their ipad app and it doesn’t work at all now. I have tried a couple of other apps with little success. Anyone have any suggestions for a decent blogging app? I have started thinking that it may be easier to change to another blog format. Thanks for any tips you may have.

      I hope not! I am trying to find an alternative. Quite frankly I don’t like Facebook and it is terrible to use on the ipad too. I guess I will just need to use the desktop computer for blogging.

    Google wants blogspot to die and they would rather it be sooner than later. They want everyone to switch to Google+. You should go ahead and make the move to a different host while you can still capture the data and post and recreate the ones you think should be saved. I somewhere else. For myself I know that it will not be done on Google+ . If postings really matter to you then you need to archive the photos as well as the text on your own computer. That way you are in control and can recreate it at any location of your choosing in the future. You could even copy and paste into the file all of the comments that were posted.

      Thanks Karin. My husband has long said google doesn’t like Apple too, and I guess we will just need to work around it. It is crazy as I really don’t think the Apple devices are going to go away. Typical of very large businesses I suppose - just no interest in what the consumer wants. I will try to copy everything over at some stage into a word document or whatever so I at least have it. In the meantime, perhaps I will find an alternative blog app.

      And thanks again. I tried the Blogo app just now and it didn’t work. It just crashed. Sigh.

    I use typepad, which is a paid service, rather than blogger. It's not free, but all my data is safe, the service is supported and they continue to innovate. They can even help you import a blogger blog to typepad so you don't lose your blogging history. They offer a two week free trial, check them out.

      Thanks Keli, swapping to another service may be something to look at. Once upon a time, Blogger innovated too. I will perservere for now, but will look into Typepad. No app I’ve tried seems to do the job.

    Hi Shannon, Thinking of you in Victoria. When we were there a few years ago it was fire, flood and pestilence. Fires in Gippsland, floods on the Murray and locusts somewhere on the road!
    Nevertheless we had a remarkable couple of months meandering about. Very cold here but no white Christmas at our house. Perhaps too near the water as Elizabeth only 30 minutes to the east reported snow.
    I wanted to wish you a very happy Christmas season and a safe and healthy 2018.

      Hi Janine. Lovely to hear from you! Hmmmm, were you here in 2011? There were floods and fires then. My husband’s parents’ house nearly burnt down but for a last minute sudden wind change. It was a busy season. What a shame about the lack of snow. I hope one day to experience a white Christmas. Happy new year to you too - I can’t wait to see progress on the Swedish house! And for that matter, a few of my own unfinished houses! Xx

    Hi Shannon, I'm still writing from a laptop, or Macbook specifically. I do have an ipad but don't like writing from that because it's a little slow. Hopefully you manage to get that sorted out.

      Hi PeiLi. I have been trying on our Mac desktop and although the website works, I am still having trouble getting photos uploaded. I will presevere though! I can upload to flickr but that is adding in extra steps I don’t want to add. Thanks for your comment.
